Thank you so much. My grandmother recently passed on, and I wanted to get things sorted, even on facebook, even though it’s kind of insignificant. I mean, the adults all sorted out the funeral things and stuff, but this is something I guess only a kid would think of. Again, thanks

Many blessings to you – I completely understand, it is a sensitive time and it’s important to handle the Facebook profile end of things in a respectful way when a loved one passes on. Glad I could help.

    Hi Mari,
Mike, at the Social Media Examiner, suggested I search your article to answer my question: How do I replace Facebook’s blank Community Page with my own Fan Page (http://Facebook.com/MagnoliaJazzBand) as “Employer” on my profile. I’m unable to find an appropriate link in your list, and I’m sure I’m not the only one with this problem. Can you help us? Who should I contact at Facebook? I hope to hear from you soon — thanks in advance.

      Hi Robbie!

Aha, I just posted a long answer on Social Media Examiner’s fan page. Lol. I’m pasting here too for others to benefit from:

First, were you able to make sense of this post I wrote on exactly what Community Pages are and how they are created automatically by Facebook? http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/facebook-community-pages-what-your-business-needs-to-know/

What’s important to know is you can just pretty much ignore these Community Pages … that is, unless they have a sizable number of fans.

Meantime, in answer to your question about getting your actual fan page on your personal profile as your Employer, there is no other workaround other than the tecchie solution I provided. What to do is the following:

      1) Make sure you’re using Firefox.
      2) Add the Web Developer add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/60/
      3) Go to your personal profile and DELETE the current employer.
      4) If you cannot then select your own fan page (just start typing the name in the Employer field), put ANY fan page in. I often recommend Starbucks.
      5) Now comes the techie part – hang in there!!! You need to REPLACE the page ID number of Starbucks with your OWN fan page ID number and you do that via the Web Developer toolbar: click Forms > Display Form Details.
To get your own page ID number, go to graph.facebook.com/xxxx – replace the x’s with your fan page username.

Here is a step by step tutorial by W Ching Ya with screenshots: http://www.wchingya.com/2010/10/official-facebook-page-employer-link.html

There is no other solution than to follow these instructions. OR, as Mike points out, you could try contacting Facebook but quite frankly I think you’ll have a very long wait. I would suggest enlisting the help of a friend/assistant who is more tecchie to help you follow the above steps. 🙂 Hope this helps!

I have a question, Facebook has sent me a message saying a photo have nudity in it but private parts were covered and not show. How do I notify them of this and will anything happen with the photos/profile?

i need help with my facebook? and can not find the answers on this page can u help?

Tara, I’m unable to help beyond the scope of providing these contact forms. If you don’t see your exact issue, use a form closest or one of the copyright/trademark infringement forms to reach Facebook directly.

I think you should be able to comment on a comment that only goes to that person and I think should be able to opt in or out of hearing everyone else’s comments.
How do I tell them that??
