Hi there!

Did you have a great summer?! Sure hope so. I certainly enjoyed August – my busiest month of the year… well, next to April. LOL!

On August 1st, I moved into a beautiful new home in San Diego County with a lovely big garden, all kinds of fruit trees, and fabulous view. I call it Casa de Mari – it’s my sanctuary. After my big transition in June, this new manifestation is a big milestone for me. 😉

Then I buzzed off to Dallas, Texas and had a blast speaking to the 3,500 attendees of the eWomenNetwork Conference. The following week, I led a social media training day in San Diego followed by a mastermind for my awesome Mentor With Mari participants – pictured here in my garden!

And the last week of August I flew over to Scotland for a wonderful visit with family – I hadn’t been since 2002! I took my fab wee sister to the spa at Gleneagles Hotel, enjoyed a day trip to St. Andrews with my dad and went to an awesome tweetup, Edinburgh Coffee Morning (#EdCM on Twitter!). I put together a fun photo montage with fabulous cover of Coldplay’s “Clocks” by the Red Hot Chilli Pipers (bagpipes). Take a look here.

Meantime, September is about to get uber busy after just a smidge of a breather! 🙂 Take a look at my events coming up – I’d sure love to meet you at any of these!

I look forward to connecting with you again soon! You’re welcome to add your feedback on any of this issue’s content… or questions/comments you may have! Just hop over to the online version of this eZine here.

Synch your Facebook Fan Page with Twitter:

Facebook have been introducing an array of hot new features lately. One that I particularly enjoy is the ability to post content on my Fan Page that automatically posts over to Twitter with a link back to my Fan Page!

With Status Updates, you get a whopping 340 characters to write a post on your Fan Page – and that truncates at about 120 characters and inserts a bit.ly link back to your Fan Page. If you craft your update carefully to leave a kind of “cliffhanger” effect, your followers on Twitter can’t help but click through and see what the rest of the message is.

Here’s how: just go to http://facebook.com/twitter and connect your Twitter with your Fan Page. Edit the settings the way you wish (I have updates, photos, videos and links all checked and I have Notes unchecked because I’m importing my blog posts so when I also tweet about the post I don’t want to double post on Twitter).

If you’re also updating your Facebook personal profile and/or Fan Page with the Selective Twitter Updates app, you might want to disable the Fan Page updating because then you’d end up with double tweets! (speaking from experience. lol!)

Or, if you prefer to update your Facebook Fan Page via Twitter, the best combo I’ve found is Hootsuite.com > Ping.fm > Facebook Profile and/or Facebook Fan Page + Twitter (+ LinkedIn and whatever other sites you want to update). Using Hootsuite allows you to also pre-schedule your updates!

Hope this makes sense – enjoy!! 😉

Ali Brown’s Online Success Blueprint System – incredible home-study program for every marketer! I was honored to be a guest expert speaker at this event presenting about Facebook success. It was truly life-changing along with being packed with internet marketing tactics and strategies that will dramatically increase your business!

Instant Teleseminar – Get a 21-day Trial for just $1. No matter how many free bridge lines I’ve tried for my teleseminars over the years, none can compare to the features of Rick Raddatz’s Instant Teleseminar service. I invariable get 60% of my teleseminar attendees on the webcast vs. on the phone line – especially international students. Participants also love the Question feature. And I love the ability to offer *instant* replay. Fabulous system. Two thumbs up!

KickStartCart – for managing your emails, broadcasts, autoresponders, online product sales, affiliate program and more. It’s simply the most comprehensive platform for the price! Free 30 day trial!

Audio Acrobat awesome, extremely affordable platform for loading your audio and video with embeddable player, with/without an mp3 download link. I love this platform and have used it for several years now!

Hi Mari, enjoyed your newsletter, and I just watched your video from Scotland and really enjoyed it. Wondering what program (ie. software) you used as I have experimented with quite a few, including Animoto and IMovie. Also saw that you used commercial music, is this OK, as I had a soundtrack removed from YouTube when I used music from the rock group Phish and did not have permission.
    Take care and thanks!
    Carrie
