Instagram Saved Posts, Social Media for eCommerce and More: The Social Scoop 12/23/16

Seasons greetings!

I hope you’re already away from your desk now and enjoying a most marvelous Holiday Season. However you celebrate, I wish you a truly enjoyable, meaningful and special time with loved ones. From my heart to yours, I just want you to know how much I appreciate you!

Just to keep you in the loop when you do get a minute to check online… here’s my social scoop for this week… 🙂

Facebook and Instagram have been rolling out updates at a rapid rate! I made this video montage to help keep you up to date! Personally, I’m most excited about the new Facebook Live Studio (lots of new features, including trim live video once it’s ended, yay!) + group video chat on Messenger. How fun to connect with friends and family all over the world on live video this Holiday Season!

This Week’s Top 3 Articles

Next up, here are this week’s top three articles my team and I have chosen for you!

1. Instagram’s New ‘Saved Posts’ Feature Has Big Implications for Marketers via Digiday.com

Instagram continues to add features that increase its marketing potential. The latest, giving users the ability to privately save any post, can be very useful for marketers. For example, an image that previously had a lifespan of seconds now could last three months or more. Not to mention the benefits of additional data for ad targeting. Instagram will prove to be an essential part of social media marketing in 2017 for savvy businesses!

2. How to Leverage Social Media for Your Ecommerce Business via BlueFountainMedia.com

It’s not just about selling. Social media can be very good for your ecommerce business by helping you provide better customer service, tell your brand’s story, and maintain transparency when problems occur. This post contains examples of how brands are successfully using social media to do all that and more.

3. B2B Social Media Marketing: 33 Strategies, Ideas and Examples via Wishpond.com

Although many think of social media strictly for B2C, there are many ways it can be used well for B2B. These 33 examples are an excellent source of inspiration! This will be one to bookmark and refer back to often!

Alrighty, that’s a wrap for this week’s issue of The Social Scoop. Have an amazing Holiday weekend and a very peaceful week ahead. I hope you take some well-deserved rest and enjoy a bit of a ‘digital fast’ … time away from tech! Stay warm, stay happy!

Cheers,
