Hi Mari, thank you for this great opportunity! :)

    1.Where you’re feeling stuck with Facebook/Twitter/social media.
    — Twitter: I am finding it hard to keep up with all my followers. I’m getting a huge amount each day and wonder how on earth I keep up? I am behind on following and DM and think there must be an easy way to manage it all?
    — Facebook: I haven’t started yet… I signed up for your Facebook Marketing Tips (up to 5 of 7), and it is on my list to implement it this weekend. I’ve held back as it is unfamiliar to me and I don’t want my Facebook site to be bare of videos! Maybe that doesn’t really matter so much at the moment?
    — Social Media: Basically managing it all. I am new to attraction marketing and social media and I am concerned about having to spend hours each day on managing the admin side of things. I realise there must be automated systems, but I need to find them. I recently designed and published my blog, which I will be adding to very frequently, so that’s the first step! :)

2.How you think your business would benefit most from a rapid immersion in high-level social marketing training.
    — I need to transition from traditional business into network marketing / direct sales; harnessing the power of social marketing. I realise and understand the power behind providing free quality content to visitors / subscribers; in fact, I love doing this as I love to give freely. I see it as an extension of who I am, and social marketing will give me a platform to “speak” directly to people who are interested in my topic, and to do it FAST. I really look forward to attracting like-minded individuals into my business which, I believe, will be achieved through social marketing.

3.Why I should pick you as the winner of this scholarship
    — Hmmm. Hard question! :) I am open to learning, acknowledge my mentors, and when I love what someone teaches me, they’re my mentor for life and I love sharing this with my network. I will diligently put into practise what you preach; even if it’s outside of my comfort zone. I’m a risk taker and importantly, I take action. I would love to be one your students! :)

    1. I love social media and I can definitely see how it works and how well it works but my “sticking point” is getting it to work effectively for me on a consistent basis without spending endless hours on it and understanding which tool to use for what.

    2. My business would benefit in many many ways from rapid immersion training.
    – I would hope to be able to find the clients I want rather than the ones I end up with
    – I would hope to be able to use my time more effectively
    – I would hope to be able to indulge my passions for different parts of my business rather than just the ones that the same tasks over again
    – It would also enable me to be more confident in providing the right content for my clients regardless of the social media tool they wish to use.

    3. And why me as a winner of the scholarship? Well, here goes:
    – I am 100% dedicated to building my business in the right way online
    – One of my objectives over the next 10 years is to raise as much money for my charity challenges as possible and I believe social media would be a great way to go about doing this
    – I don’t believe my business or the businesses of my clients can fulfill their potential without possessing a high degree of social media expertise.
    – I will actually take action and make use of the information I glean from the training

    Thanks
    Kirsty

    1. Mari, I’m feeling stuck with Facebook/Twitter/social media is I’m feeling a crunch lately to stay on top of my social media as well as my client. Also, I’m having a tough time keeping up with some advance things such as FBML and special tools which can take my skills to the next level to get stronger clients.

As I have gotten a lot of traction now with about 750 Facebook friends, 1900 Twitter followers & 425 Linkedin Connections,
I’m becoming the shoe cobbler, but it was my activity with these networks that got me many introductions in the first place.

    2. Mari, my business would benefit most from a rapid immersion in high-level social marketing training by understanding what’s most important, building more value=driven content and most importantly learning the business side. I have been doing this business now for almost a year & ran into challenges in May as I didn’t understand how to contract things and get paid for speaking and getting the right pricing down and became a bit overwhelmed and finally see a glimmer of daylight.

Since September 2008, I have been doing too many free talks & until recently from your webinar, under valuing my Seminars at below $100.

I have several clients now …that are paying versus doing trade, & getting to point where I can take on more with the right system.

    3. Mari, I should pick you as the winner of this scholarship as I’m committed to Social Media & believe I could truly contribute to the community.
I am in a local Chapter of NSA and have come in contact with some inspiring people such as Patricia Fripp, Darren Lacroix & Sam Silverstein. I know I have the ability to use the speaking platform to pay it back … and pay it forward.
I have shown commitment by initially investing in your MWM course & have felt huge challenges starting in May that has prevented me from making the follow up payments. I have felt reluctant to participate as I knew my payments were declining as well as doing everything I can to make a life & living via Social Media for myself & my Phamily.

I have been asking the Universe for a way to continue the program and get kick-started back into MWM and I believe it has given me this opportunity.

Mari, my parents brought me over to this country on a boat after the fall of Saigon. They have spent much blood, sweat & tears to get me to where I am. I will not let them down.
I will succeed because I’m a hard worker, I’m coachable, resilient & persistent.

I have been so inspired by you Mari in particular, Gary Vaynerchuk & Sherman Hu.

    PlEASE choose me Mari.

Whatever you decide, I truly appreciate all you have taught me so far & the inspiration you have been to so many folks.
    THANK YOU!

Please only publish with Initials or “Don’t publish”

    Very sincerely yours,

    1. Where you’re feeling stuck with Facebook/Twitter/social media.
I feel stuck in pulling it all together in a focus.I can use the tools and have fun but am missing the final key

I would hope that there would be a laser focus and high energy and less ADD

    3. Why I should pick you as the winner of this scholarship.
    I am dedicated and faithful.

You were probably my first entry point into the wider world of social media beyond people I know in person. In spite of not being one of your students I often promote/endorse(I send out your links and videos) your work and your person as I am a big fan of how you do things.(fun, accessible, clear, integrity, success tracks coach, great journey, generous plus the Canadian link is an added bonus)I am an excellent evangelist.

1.) Where you’re feeling stuck with Facebook/Twitter/social media?

SOCIAL MEDIA: I’m torn between being spread too thin between various platforms, and focusing on the most effective top five.

    TWITTER:
Originally, Twitter was my newsfeed to keep a pulse on areas of interests, but now I am using it to build relationships.

People don’t talk back to me on Twitter because I didn’t use it to build a following—but more as an information source. I’m having trouble making that transition.

    FACEBOOK:
I need to find different strategies and tactics for my “Facebook Friends” and “Facebook Fans.” There’s a difference in how you treat them.

2.)How you think your business would benefit most from a rapid immersion in high-level social marketing training?

I will learn to adjust from my phases: from information feeding to networking and then building a following.

3.)Why I should pick you as the winner of this scholarship?

When I first entered social media, I “did it wrong quickly,” but stayed on the pulse of it. Now, I’m in the process of cleaning up my missteps, while staying in the rapidly changing tide.

My biggest roadblock right now with Facebook, Twitter and social media in general is finding the right people to connect with. My second problem is effectively using these avenues in a timely manner. Its very easy to spend hours on these sites and not be effective.

I know my business would appeal to many people freuenting the realm of social media because for one, many people are looking to supplement their incomes with todays economic chaos. And secondly, those who can afford to shop would have an interest in the products i have to offer.

Mari, “why should you pick me.” you ask. I am one of those people looking to supplement my family’s income during this financial chaos. I believe in the business model before me and I have a desire to learn the path that I believe will help me achieve my goals.

Wishing you a scent-sational day, Mari!

I feel stuck with social media on so many different levels that is a bit over whelming. From creating a sound profile; to who I should reach out to and invite as friends or locating and posting great valued content.
I believe that the rapid immersion of high level social marketing training from the best in is field will help me in branding my self, integrate my existing direct marketing company as well as create other streams of income and affiliates. I have done some intensive research in finding the right mentors/coach that shared similar values that felt I could place my trust in. I am committed to be on every call or training session and implement all the principles and techniques taught in this course. To continue in the spirit of giving I’m also committed as soon as I am able, to sponsor someone else in to this course by paying there tuition. Some times people’s lack of taking action has nothing to do with desire or poor leadership skills. My strong desire to learn and create wealth as I liveinawareness is to help others do the same.
Mari – thank you so much for all that you do and I so much look forward to your e-mails and and posting on Facebook…
    Continued success and always blessed…

    Dave.

    Mari,
    Thank you for this opportunity.
    1) Where I’m feeling stuck is right here, over there, around the corner, over the hill, next to the big oak tree, on the left, on the right, in the middle, up high and down low. (Maybe I should have put “everywhere” but that would not have been as dramatic now would it?)
I have a couple of FB accounts, several Twitter accounts and I even started a LinkedIn group that now has over 900 members. I attempt to update them all manually myself and it’s a daunting task that has not produced any tangible monetary results. I feel like a basketball player that knows how to dribble and rebound and pass the ball but not shoot and it’s frustrating.
    2) My business would benefit exponentially if I could affordably drive traffic that converts to my site through social media because I have great content and light sales people’s world on fire when I work with them but I need to remove my “candle from under the bushel basket.”
    3) Please pick me because I am a giver and a worker. I’m writing this at 4:49 am (after being up for an hour already) because I have a wife and 6 kids 12 and under that I must provide for not only physically but by example. They need to see “daddy” working hard, making it on his own by continuously learning, partnering with good people, and still giving back to the community, helping out at church, helping struggling small business owners not feel so lonely and overwhelmed. You should also pick me because I will do 100% of what you show me. I’m a trainer myself and I read every book I buy with a highlighter and at least two pens of different color next to me and a note pad and a sticky pad so I can make multiple notes for both long term review and short term action. EVERYTHING you teach me will be leveraged and multiplied and “actionized!” (And I’m a fellow So-Cal resident with an accent so we gotta stick together and show these “flat-talkers” how fun we are!)
Thank you, again, for the opportunity, Mari.

    Hi Mari,

Thank you for this opportunity to apply for a scholarship for your training program. Below are my answers to your application questions:

1-I feel stuck with social media because it’s difficult to keep track of all that is happening (so quickly) and identify best practices that will make a difference for me and my business. Social media is very layered and complicated at first glance. You need to peel back the onion and work layer by layer to build a successful message and brand. I want to know how to do that effectively, which is why your comprehensive training program is exciting to me.

2-My business would greatly benefit from your training, because I have the time to focus on social marketing to establish my personal brand to attract a new employer or establish a consulting business. I am recently and suddenly unemployed and actively adding social media marketing skills through SMSS09. To put my studies to work, I have lined up a couture jewelry designer and a NY State Assemblywoman, both of whom I will be preparing a social media strategy for. Your training will help me create a strong foundation for success in social media marketing for both my clients and myself.

3-Mari, you should pick me as the winner of this scholarship because I am committed to my clients’ marketing success. In my career, I have built long-term relationships with my clients, which has served me well, often in unexpected, wonderful ways. Social media marketing is new way to reach out, maintain, and extend those relationships, as well as grow new ones. I ‘d like the opportunity to immediately put your strategies to use with my starter clients, so I can one day be added to the list of testimonial success stories on your web site.

Please don’t publish the entire comment/application on your blog. I’d welcome a shorter version posted.

    Thanks again,

    Charlie

    1. Definitely feeling stuck in facebook. Still not sure about creating my fan page – SMU guru said no need, just work on my personal profile. Not sure if this is the right way to go as a Network Marketer. Also stuck with privacy settings – I want to have the edge over others in our company and not have them follow me wherever I go! Is this possible with Facebook ….so there….I’m stuck on numerous fronts…Whew!:)
    2. I’m enrolled in SMU with Self Growth and the classes have been a big help. I have had some difficulty keeping up and trying all of the great and wonderful new tricks. So far, I’ve been tweeting, made a landing page, submitted 2 articles to Ezine.articles, 1 of which has been published,(the other one I submitted today) joined Linkedin and joined 3 groups, joined facebook and today I am looking at some of the social bookmarking sites. Gee that’s a ton of stuff… getting tired just repeating it all! I am confident that immersion is what I really need at this point to put all the pieces in place and to help me focus on the areas that are particularly suited to my business – network marketing in the Health and Wellness field.
    3. Pick me!! Pick me!!! I’m going to share everything I learn with my downline…..for free. I want lots of mini-me’s running around…..Give, give, give…….

I have passed this along to my husband – he’s on the road but very excited about it. He has a sales force that he would love to educate about social media marketing but has neither the time or expertise. I purchased the book for him and hope he can win the scholarship so he can see for himself how valuable it will be for him to get his sales team trained by you.
So, in answer to your questions:
    1. He’s stuck at square one and needs help and expertise to move forward.
2.Using social media marketing will bring a whole new dimension to how his team sells.
    3. He should get the scholarship because he may be forever stuck in the 20th century if he doesn’t.
    Thanks for your consideration!

    Mari,

First of all, great job on BraveheartTV the other day!

    1) As for me, I find myself a bit overwhelmed by ALL of the choices for social media outlets and not sure which are my best avenues of approach for my business. I am also struggling to understand how to push traffic to by blog with feeds to all my other sites.
    2) I think that it social media is perfect as a platform to share knowledge and information, and if that can be monetized even better! I feel that I am called to be a coach and to share my experiences with others, but nothing is more frustrating than speaking to blank space. I believe my business will explode with rapid immersion into the marketplace.

    1. I’m stuck finding the time for social media and managing Facebook/Twitter/LinkedIn efficiently/effectively.
    2. I’m consulting for several companies that could hugely benefit from a finely tuned social media strategy and I’d like to create passive income on my own site myonlinebusinessideas.com using a social media strategy.
    3. I think you should pick me as the winner of the scholarship because I’m serious about reinventing myself and my business using the power of social media and I enjoy promoting your social media “guruism” on my site!

    Hi Mari,

First off, Thank you! You always provide such valueable information and resourses in your emails and it’s a pleasure to follow you. I am scheduled to launch LifeTrax.com next month and I’m sure the book will be a great add to my library and I’m looking forward to reading Dave’s book, and of course YOUR chapter.

I’m feeling stuck in my social media with just simply knowing how to effectively get out there, follow, update, what to say ect… As a new business owner, my time is very limited, but I know that my social media involvement is crucial to my success.

I know that my business would benefit greatly from an emersion in high level social media training by knowing how to effectively share my passion for helping other people live a reality that exceeds their dreams. LifeTrax is such a wonderful site that is designed to help people in so many crucial areas of life, but if people don’t hear about it, they can’t use it to better themselves. So for me, it’s not just about how my business would benefit, it’s about how OTHERS would benefit from knowing about LifeTrax.com

Mari, I would be honored to be chosen to participate in your Social Media Mastery Program and I practiced what Dr. Wayne Dyer talks about in his new book “Excuses BeGone” (Great Book) and went to sleep last night putting my subconscious to work searching for the answer to my need to increase my social media expertise and this morning your email was the first one that I read. I know that you are passionate about helping other people acheive success, as am I, and learning from you would be a way for both of us to accomplish our goal. Let’s work together to create lasting change in people’s lives Mari. They deserve it!

Thanks for your consideration in my desire to win this scholoarship for the benefit of so many people.

    Hi Mari:

I actually am receiving a copy of Dave’s book in the mail. He tweeted about receiving an advance copy and of course I jumped on that right away:-)

    1. I feel like I am particularly stuck with the technical aspects of social media because I seem to get to a certain point and then have difficulty monetizing what I’m doing. I’m great at the relationship aspect of social media; I absolutely love meeting people and “talking” with them and I develop great rapport with folks. I am absolutely fascinated with social media and feel like I have wasted a lot of time going down rabbit holes in order to get relevant information on how to use it effectively. So, I have the basic fanpage setup on FB and profile on LinkedIN and Twitter, but I haven’t OPTIMIZED them for business purposes.

    2. My business would benefit most from a rapid immersion because that is definitely my learning style. Give me the information and techniques and I will immediately go and apply them to my best ability. I particularly need to learn to market AND systemize my business. As you talk about so eloquently, developing a radical strategic visibility is crucial to an effective presence in social media and that appears to be my biggest block right now. Using these outlets strategically is a skill I need to learn and develop more fully. I have the basics down and am ready to rapidly move my business forward; no, make that NEED to move my business forward.

    3. Why me? Well, your style resonates with me and I greatly admire your philosophy and beliefs. I want to learn from the best teachers and you are definitely one of them! I am someone who will implement what you are teaching me and I’m so ready with what I have already learned to move to the next level! Knowing you a little like I do, I would be so grateful to learn and grow from your knowledge and expertise!

    Warmly,
    Danielle

    Hi Mari.
Wow….what a fantastic opportunity! I would absolutely love to join you in a rapid immersion training process. I have to say watching you market your business is truly amazing and I am learning so much in the MWM program. The stuckness only comes from the ability to bridge the distance between running the current businesses I own and getting certified in social media with enough practical experience / knowledge to abundantly monetize a new social media business as soon as possible. I believe I would make a great Testimony for you for Total Immersion in the process for those that are serious about Social Media Consultation and taking the leap of faith backed by personal desire and motivation (even with 5-year old twins)! Either way it is an absolute pleasure learning from you and I know I will get there either way – this would just quantum leap the process!!

    Hi Mari

I just got the book via Amazon (order # 104-7377148-4076226 ) and can’t wait to read it! Good thing I have Amazon Prime so it will be here by Thurs!

    And now… (DRUM ROLL PLEASE)

Lisa’s TOP TEN REASONS why you should consider me for your Social Marketing Mastery Scholarship!

#10: I know just enough about Twitter, Facebook and other social media to be a danger to myself and others! Over 7000 followers and no clear strategy?! YIKES!!

#9 I am social bookmarking challenged: every time I try to digg I stumble which is not delicious.

#8 I have multiple social personality disorder. Who am I? My own name? My business? My Twitter handle? On Facebook am I talking to my customers? my clients? my colleagues? my cousins? Save me from being a Social Media Sybil (and help me save others).

#7 With all these challenges, I have somehow still become the default Twitter and Facebook answer lady to the uninitiated in my tribe. I feel responsible and would love to be able to share more and better info with all the people who come to me for help and advice, both business and personal.

#6 As an old-school Madison Avenue advertising copywriter, I want the tools to drag my freelance clients into a more interactive and dynamic relationship with their customers, rather than just talking and selling AT them with traditional old-style marketing.

#5 I am a passionate, outgoing and enthusiastic (OK, I’m LOUD) person who is not afraid to communicate in public and loves talking about things I believe in! I will happily and vociferously spread the word about this program far and wide.

#4 I’ve been DYING to sign up for this course but my husband won’t let me spend the $ and I just don’t want to blow my marriage after only 2 years. However, I’d LOVE to show him the value of your training and give him a BIG “I told you so.” (Bronx cheer optional.) After that I think he’d get it.

#3 I would be overwhelmed with guilt (what can I say, I’m Jewish) being given such a generous gift and so would feel compelled to give back in any way I could (editing sales letters, writing snappy headlines, Tweeting my gratitude incessantly, arriving with wine) — WARNING: ETHICAL BRIBE

#2 I am very quick study, LOVE learning and implementing new things and sharing what I know with others, so your generosity would not end with me.

And the #1 reason why you should pick ME for your Social Marketing Mastery Scholarship…

We are both fun smart people here in SD and it would be a blast to hang out and get to know each other!!
(And I love turquoise. But that would be #11)

Congrats on the new book! Next let’s have one of your very own.

    Looking forward to reading!
    Lisa

  • Mike, but my friends call me MC

I just finished ordering Dave’s book… as a matter of fact, I own all of Dave’s books.

Here’s my entry answers to your 3 questions:

    1. My sticking point is that I don’t know how to use social media in my market or as a marketing tool. The more I read about it, the more confusing it gets. I’m not a very technical guy and I’d rather spend my time marketing. Social Media seems to be hard to master and also time-consuming. It would be very cool if social media were made easy for people like me.

    2. I think I would benefit most from social media if I can get prospects to engage/pursue me and my services so that I can have fast direct communications or feedback/results. It would be a great low cost tool to learn customer preferences and performing market research. I can also see using it as a brand and credibility builder. Putting all that together would make my business grow exponentially.

    3. You’d be doing a great service for America and the both of us if you were to pick me as the winner of the scholarship.

I provide a unique service that has the potential to help millions of Americans foreclosure-proof their home so they can continue to live life with their family in their home without the fear, stress or worry of losing it ever again. This is the mission I was put on this planet for.

You would get a raving case study that would show how you transformed me from technical dunce to expert social media marketer, as well as have a potential JV partner using my list that I built with your help.

I want to play BIG, so I have the courage to follow through and I’m not afraid of taking imperfect action.

    Thanks for the chance!

Where you’re feeling stuck with Facebook/Twitter/social media.

How you think your business would benefit most from a rapid immersion in high-level social marketing training.

When I refer clients to things I do or have used it is almost a guaranteed sale for you. So by picking me I can repay you with more peeps! I love talking about great tools & products…

Mari, I’m not sure if my comment was received because I hit “submit comment” and the page refreshed and my information was displayed, but not my comments.

So, just in case (I really want to be a part of the immersion program), here are my responses again and I’m sorry for any duplication.

    1. My biggest challenge with Facebook, Twitter, etc. is how to integrate all of the pieces. Currently, I have an account on Twitter and I’ve created a page on Facebook (in addition to my personal profile) for my business and for my blog. What I’m not clear about is how to build these out and how to generate meaningful connections for my business.

    2. Our business (I run it with my husband) would benefit from the program because currently we manage websites for a number of small businesses and we are limping along trying to help them with their social media efforts. If I can learn how to implement social media strategies for our business and succeed in doing so, then I can also teach our clients the same so they can be successful as well. I’m passionate about helping business owners take advantage of the latest technologies and trends (especially moms).

    3. If you pick me as the winner of the scholarship, you can rest assured that I will be an active participant and will work steadily to implement the techniques you teach me. And, as a result, I will help others to take advantage of social media marketing techniquest. I believe that social media is transforming our society and allowing people to have more time for the important things in life because of the flexibility it affords them. I believe there are some amazing business ideas and business owners out there that deserve to utilize the techniques that are out there and I’d like to help them to do so, so they can create an amazing life.

    Thanks, Mari!

    Hey Mari!

Just bought the book on Amazon.ca (receipt #: 701-1755925-2954656) and look forward to reading it!

    1. Where you’re feeling stuck with Facebook/Twitter/social media.

I’ve been trying to wrap my head around how to use Facebook and Twitter for quite some time now. It wasn’t until I heard you being interviewed by Bill Glazer and then heard you at Investfest that I realized that you actually can (and how). Since meeting you at Investfest I’ve been able to increase my Twitter followers from 98 to 240 (and it’s increasing every day) and will be getting a professional photo taken on Thursday using your Twitter profile as a model. I’ve also enrolled in your membership program and changed my schedule last week to attend your intro call to Investfest clients. So yes – I’m very serious about this! :)

    2. How you think your business would benefit most from a rapid immersion in high-level social marketing training.

I’ve been marketing my wine making info product for the last year and a half, and while I have been able to build an email list of 900 people I’ve only been able to sell about $2,000 worth of books. I agree that people buy from people that they like and trust and I feel that I really need to focus on consistently building up my character and brand. I also need to communicate with my wine making “peeps” on a more consistent basis (as well as constantly add new “peeps” to the community) and this this where I believe Twitter and Facebook come in to play.

    3. Why I should pick you as the winner of this scholarship.

Excellent question! I think you should pick me for 3 simple reasons – persistence, helping others and taking action.

PERSISTENCE – I went through Derek Gehl’s coaching program almost 2 years ago and have been working on my business outside of my regular “day job” most evenings and weekends ever since. While I haven’t seen the results that I would like I’m convinced that the market exists and that I merely need to find the right “formula” to get it right. At no point have I thought about giving up! Your program will help add some missing pieces!

HELPING OTHERS – I’m the type of person who has always enjoyed helping others improve themselves. Whether it be teaching people how to swim, volunteering on the ski hill as a ski patroller or teaching people how to build their business with Internet marketing I’m happy to lend a hand. I think you have a lot to offer and I’m quite happy to share what I learn with my own “peeps”!

TAKING ACTION – I’m always learning new things and putting them into action. For example, after hearing Ali Brown at this year’s SuperConference I created a weekly wine making eZine to stay in touch with my clients and build my profile within my community. I’m also in the process of launching a monthly printed newsletter and wine making membership site inspired by Dan Kennedy and Ryan Deiss. I dream big and take action. I can only imagine what I can do learning from you. :)

I should also mention that I’m putting some serious thought to joining your mentoring program this fall so that I can be part of your social marketing mentor team.

So there you have it. I’d like to think that I’ve got a lot to offer and certainly worthy of being chosen.

    Thank you for your consideration!

    Warmest Regards,

    Scott “The Wine Making Guy”

    1. Where you’re feeling stuck with Facebook/Twitter/social media.
Trying to keep up with all the design changes…

    2. How you think your business would benefit most from a rapid immersion in high-level social marketing training.

I cut back on my social marketing recently because I’m changing my branding… “thetimediva” was extremely limiting especially since we go way beyond time. wanted a slight gap between the relaunch. The goal was the end of June and it look like we’re a few ahead of schedule. I will be re-doing my facebook page and reserved a new fan page Ann Rusnak – Productivity and Focus which I need to develop.

I worked on our new program “Focus Mojo System” and got great several case studies that I be putting on the fan page

    3. Why I should pick you as the winner of this scholarship.
Cuz you like me :) I’ve learned so much from you and everytime I apply something I see results.

With the many techniques and your mentoring, my business is now growing and the majority of new clients (including repeats now) came from Facebook.

With your continued guidance, I know I can reach more solo entrepreneurs/sm biz owners to show them how get out of overwhelm, focus on their bigger picture and transform their lives by taking control of their day.

Thanks so much for all you’ve done.

1.)I’ve been getting lost in the maze of social networking, with no clear path to follow, having a hit or miss(mostly miss) effect. 2)I have a new project in the works that would benefit greatly from social marketing in getting the word out,and creating co-creative relationships. 3) I really enjoy your style and am quick study. I take consistent action and would be an awesome before and after testimonial for your program.

    Mari -
I love your stuff and I would to be able to win a spot in your training. Here is my entry:
    1. I have learned a lot in the past year with Social Media and I believe I have a lot to offer as a Edutainer teaching people how to get started with Social Media themselves. I’m feeling stuck in integrating all the Social Media options and driving traffic.
    2. I am a very fast learner despite my age :) and I feel my business would benefit immensely from more exposure that your training in social media would provide. I am basically at ground zero with the Edutainer concept and can see this taking off.
    3. You should pick me because I have a drive that won’t quit, I have a fantastic attitude and I’m loving what I’m doing. I am a true entrepreneur that can bring a lot to the group.

Can’t wait to read your book – going to pick it up now! Thanks so much for the opportunity!

1 – I’m feeling stuck in how to get followers on these social media sites.

2 – My business would benefit immediately from this training because we are an ice cream truck company that is wanting to communicate to our customers when & where we’ll be .. create excitement & buzz!

3 – I represent a very good “before training in Mari’s Workshop” client and would be a very good testimonial for “after training in Mari’s Workshop.” I have an old-school media marketing background .. am very hungry to learn new ways of making social sites work for me & with me .. and not to seem overly dramatic, but the success of my business depends on this information that you are providing and I would be honored, greatful & deliciously excited if chosen to receive this scholarship.

    Thanks for your consideration, Mari!

    Hi Mari,

Just ordered my copy of Dave’s new book. Looking forward to reading it and going big and going viral.

Speaking of that, here are my responses to your questions. Thanks so much for the opportunity. Hope to hear from you soon!

    1. Where you’re feeling stuck with Facebook/Twitter/social media.

As a child, I would lunge into the water without even considering the temperature. Now, I daintily stick my foot in only to pull it right back out because the water is cold. (Funny, though, the water is probably the same temperature as it always has been, yet it never seemed cold as a child.) This is how I have approached social marketing. I dip my pinky toe in to test the water and then I pull it out fearful of getting cold. I’d love to take a huge cannonball leap right in though.

I’m also stuck in how to attract, connect and develop relationships with my ideal target. Often, I silence my presence because of fear.

    2. How you think your business would benefit most from a rapid immersion in high-level social marketing training.

My business would benefit because it would align with our mission of helping others. YOUR high-level social marketing training would reinforce our message of “How can we help you?” rather than “What’s in it for me?”

    3. Why I should pick you as the winner of this scholarship.

I want to see a world of where we no longer just see the changes or want to be the changes. I want a world where we lead the changes we desire with family, business and life. And, the first steps are service and gratitude. This is how I want to connect through social media. This is how I want to connect with you as you and your branding illuminates both service and gratitude.

Because I’ll literally jump in an ice cold pool to play big and be bold. :-) Brrr….but I’m ready for it!

    Hi Mari,

I feel stuck with social media applications like Facebook and Twitter in being able to connect them with sales. At the moment I’ve been writing blog posts with affiliate links, then using the social media to drive traffic to those blog posts but not seeing much in the way of connections to sales.

I think my business would benefit greatly from an intensive immersion training in high level social media marketing training because I do see the value in the social media applications in creating an avenue for communication as well as building a sense of trust with the audience who opt in to follow in those social media formats. Learning how to better apply the social media applications would be beneficial in not only being able to reach a receptive audience, but also learning how to better serve that audience with the information they want and desire.

I think I would be an ideal candidate for your scholarship program because I know the value of client testimonials, I would be willing to provide detailed testimonials for your program outlining the success I’ve achieved using the information you’ve taught. Also being a fellow San Diego based Canadian and perhaps I could help produce some audio materials for you. One of my hobbies is I dabble in sound engineering and I would love to assist you with producing marketable audio programs as a trade for the education.

I’m a real can-do kind of guy who’s usually able to keep the ball running once I’m shown how to get that ball going towards the goal line. I would also be very grateful for the opportunity to learn from you.

    Thanks so much,

    1. Where you’re feeling stuck with Facebook/Twitter/social media.

I’m wondering about how much personal life details vs. how much high value content and recommendations. I’m working hard to make sure even my personal life details relate in a beneficial way to people who are following me.

    2. How you think your business would benefit most from a rapid immersion in high-level social marketing training.

How do I operate in a way that communicates the value I have to offer with my peeps so that they’re inspired to multiply the benefit by sharing it with their lists?

    3. Why I should pick you as the winner of this scholarship.

Mari, you know that I have something very special to offer. My gift is to look at the spirit of people and help them clearly identify the real value they’re here to contribute.

Social Media is so incredible for who I am and how I think and connect. I want to create a strategy that has 100,000 followers in a year – not so that I can make a bunch of money, but because I feel a strong conviction that I have unique ways of interpreting and sharing information that a big population can benefit from.

I am at a point in my life where I am truly inspired to grow into and manifest the full extent of the gifts I’ve been given and see social media as the ideal vehicle to do it.

I’m not here to gain prestige or fill the ethersphere with rehashed quotes, tips or get rich ideas. My role is connect with as many highly gifted individuals as possible and demand that they fulfill their potential so that others can benefit – I just need to get in front of them and I believe I can do that convincingly.

Help me change the world by bringing more big players up to their potential Mari!

I am taking the Social Media Success Summit on Mari’s suggestion and I’m just loving it! I can barely keep up with all of the info. I even downloaded the pdf’s so that I could read through them all while flying cross country last night. I’m getting a little stuck on creating my Facebook business page for Through a Dog’s Ear. I started to link it as a product page to my own Facebook page, but not sure that’s how I should be doing it, since I am not the brand, even though I am the creator of the products – the first music clinically demonstrated to relieve anxiety issues in dogs.
After hearing Gary Vaynerchu’s keynote, it became so obvious that my business will benefit most from a rapid immersion in high-level social marketing training. We are all set up with a fabulous site – http://www.ThroughADogsEar.com, we are the best at what we do, and I am totally passionate about helping dogs worldwide with my music. I am a Juilliard graduate, concert pianist, and have found a way to combine my biggest passions – music and dogs – into products that help others. I love that!
Mari – you should pick me as the winner of your scholarship, because I will be a terrific role model of what can be created with social media. I will follow through on all your suggestions and have proven results to report. I so admire everything you are teaching and it’s obvious how passionate about it you are.

    Hi Mari,

I got my Step one done! Here is my Amazon order # for you to verify (104-0842294-1905010) :) I’m super duper excited. Here are the answers to your questions. (Plz don’t publish)

    1. Where you’re feeling stuck with Facebook/Twitter/social media.

~In my time on Twitter & Facebook with my tweets and personality, I’ve developed a good following of active and engaged people. I just haven’t been able to on a large scale solidify my brand, establish/expand word of mouth marketing and have it result in significant income.

    2. How you think your business would benefit most from a rapid immersion in high-level social marketing training?

To be able to learn how to utilize all the tools of social media marketing effectively by someone who has had massive success doing it would TRANSFORM my business in the scope of influence and income I am making from it.

    3. Why I should pick you as the winner of this scholarship?

Since the car accident in January ’08, I’m still not 100% physically (herniated discs in my neck & near daily headaches) to be able to work a job let alone full time hours on here with social media, though I strive to do my best every day to be visible and give value.

When I got active in social media in September and learned of the Social Marketing Mastery class before I haven’t been able to afford it. We’ve been financially staying afloat during all of this with some of the income I’ve been bringing in…but it is by no means a full time income Mari.

Since I can’t get employed, social media marketing is the only way for me to bring in money at this time…I’d really like to make it a permanent transition from employed to self-employed at this time.

I’ve been voraciously learning as much as I can in the time I’ve been doing this Mari. Being able to learn from you would radically change our situation at home and my position online. Like I said in my tweet to you a few days ago, I’ve looked up to what you were doing while RV’ing and gave me the vision that it was possible to do this full time and do what I love.

And knowing that such high level immersion in social marketing for me would solidify my transition from needing an income from a job and truly could earn a full time living online and be able to travel North America in an RV if the settlement from the car accident is what we hope it will be next year or so.

Mari, I wish I could express to you really what it would mean to win this opportunity and all that it could do for my business. I know you have a lot of great people to choose from. I’m keeping my fingers and toes crossed to win and to be able to connect with you on a level beyond Twitter & Facebook.

    :)

    Thank you for the opportunity.

Hi Mari! WOW, I am extra excited that I stopped by to read your blog. This is THE opportunity I’ve been dreaming of. I have been working the past few months to build my own business specializing in Twitter PR and blog giveaways. I have so much to learn about marketing, yet I know I have the starting skills and the desire to be successful in this business!
1- The area I feel stuck in is this: Twitter and Facebook are amazing marketing tools, but how do I measure campaign successes and my own worth?
2- My business would benefit from your training and coaching because my desire is to be teachable and use the skills to the benefit of many businesses. I seek to help companies, blogs, and products network through conversations and connection on social media outlets. My business benefits when I’m most benefiting other hardworking businesses!
3- You should pick me for this prestigious scholarship because I have already committed myself to succeeding this field: I quit my full-time job to work at home full-time in social media PR and marketing. I do not want to go at it alone and would love coaching. Teamwork is very enjoyable for me and I want to surround myself in a network with those who are experts– that’s you! I can promise you that I would pass on the knowledge as I am able. I consider coaching to only be successful if the coached can become the coach! :) Of course I’ll be a hard worker because I’m all-in, but I also hope to contribute to and grow the field of high-level social media marketing. Thank you so much for your consideration!

Hi, here is my part for the scolarship contest!

    1. I’m feeling stuck with converting my contacts & relations from Twitter/Facebook/social media into leads and I’m also stuck on how I can monetize it.

    2. I think I am a quick learner (have a PhD) but some piece of my puzzle is missing since I’m still find my business struggeling with social medai. I think I need a real mentor that can show me the way, step by step, individually, how and what I should do to turn my business around with social media. I think Social Media Success summit is a good start with all the knowledge but the mentoring part is the think I’m missing. Someone that can give advice based on my specific needs and desires.

3.I know my business would be takin of enormously when I get all the pieces of the puzzle togheter and I’m very sure that a mentor like You Marie, can help me to do that. I have seen a lot of what you have accomplished with social media and I really think you are a brilliant social media marketer and great leader in this industry!

I hope I can be the selected since this kind of coaching is priced above what I have to spend on my business at the moment.

Have a wonderful day and take care!

Hi Mari !! Just got a copy of the book…can’t wait to read it. I know that my sales skills can use some fine tuning for today’s marketplace and I am totally impressed with the things I heard Dave speak about with Eben.

You always recommend the best resources…big thanks to you. I have been devouring your information for the past six months or so and I have been able to use many of your suggestions to start developing my presence on both Twitter and Facebook. It is definitely a process – one that seems to be taking a long time..LOL But, building ME,Inc is alot of fun and I am learning so much along the way.

I would LOVE for you to consider me a candidate for your Social Marketing Mastery training. I know that with laser focused training, the learning and development curve I am going through would be shortened considerably. And building ME, Inc properly really gives me great odds at being able to consistently win the internet marketing, internet networking game and that means that I could work for myself full time – rather than for someone else. The thought of being able to accomplish something like that fast and virally is so exciting that it is almost scary. And, I know that your training does exactly that…I have seen the results that some of your students have achieved…just brilliant.

Why should you consider me for this training???…I would be a great student and a great testimonial for what you teach about social marketing. I am all about modeling successful people…and there is no one better to learn social marketing from. Your personal brand is enormously POWERFUL…you have a huge network of loyal, raving fans….you provide amazing value always…you just do it right…and that is what I want to do as well. So…I will be forever grateful and a true credit to you and your course if you pick me :)

Hi Mari, 1st I’m very excited about this opportunity, so thanks for this offer!

I feel stuck on a few levels – most importantly building real, solid followers on twitter (right now, I feel like I’m talking to myself half the time!) and for facebook, building content rich pages for businesses I work with/for and then marketing them to build fans.

I’m a freelance publicist who is learning the new ways of the business and social media is of course front and center of the revolution. I have a few potential clients that I’ve talked the talk with, but honestly, I don’t feel like I can walk the walk that is going to get them the results they want and need. My most important client is my husband and his biz is about to go through some major changes and I want to be a true asset to them and help during this difficult time. I have limited working hours available and just need to TCOB (take care of business) in the most expedient manner possible – which includes learning the ins and outs of social media.

You should pick me because I’m a WAHM in San Diego who is heading into a busy summer of multi-tasking with my kids and many freelance jobs and would be forever grateful for the opportunity to fast-track my education on this subject. I strongly believe in the pay it forward doctrin and will undoubtably find a way to help others on their path as well. Plus (and I’m not just saying this) I really look up to you – I think the way that you engage and interact with your many followers is impressive and I’m hopeful that a little bit of Mari magic rubs off on me in this process.

Again, thanks for the opportunity Mari! Much more I could/would/should say perhaps, but I’ve already gone waaayyy over 140 characters!
